TSC - Angelic Angel Ann

Well it's a bittersweet day.  It's my last challenge with The Stamping Chef.  However, in the new year Tamara (owner/designer) will be opening Slinky Tart which is very exciting!!!

My card this week is using Angelic Angel Ann.  She's not slated to make the transition to Slinky Tart, so if you like her, now's the chance to grab her!

I really loved colouring all the folds of her robe.  I also use some spica pens on the edges of her wings for some very fine glitter (doesn't photo well).
This is one of the last challenges over at The Stamping Chef so don't put off playing along!

There's a coupon code if you want to stock up on TSC images - you'll kick yourself if you don't!

SBS Christmas Boudoirs and an exciting announcement!

Happy Friday!!!  SOOO excited to show off these super duper awesome new Simply B Stamps.

We all loved her first boudoir line.  Aaaand, I don't know about you, but sometimes I get bored with Christmas images.  So when Betty told me she was doing a holiday line called of boudoir images I knew I'd have some new favourites.  You may have purchased these as a secret release, and they're now available to everyone.

But then came the even better news.  She said she was drawing up something sexy but classy and I jokingly said "oh, me?".  She said "yes" and I thought she was kidding....until she asked if I'd like to be part of the boudoir line!  UMMM YES!!!!  Betty and I both share a love for that kind of thing, so I was thrilled about the opportunity.  And I've wanted to be part of this DT so badly!

The line has four cuties complete with sentiments.

Figgy Pudding Corinne

I used some frantage around her and added flock to her corset.

Betty has two characters.  First up is Lump of Coal Betty

and this one is quite obviously Santa Baby Betty.

Having the song in mind I blinged her rings out and added tinsel glitter to trim her lingerie.

And last but NOT least.... Melissa Mistletoe and Tiny
Betty even gave me a whole story about how the naughty elf walked in on her while she was dressing!!  lol.

Don't you love them?  They're all available NOW over in the new items section of the store.  Be sure to show off all your makes on the SBS fanpage too!

TSC - Done for the Year!

I'm very happy to say I AM done for the year!!!  Christmas shopping that is!  Unfortunately I thought I was smart doing all my shopping online, and they went and mailed my packages to be picked up at the post office in the mall!!!!  Lol....best laid plans....

What I'm not done are my Christmas cards. You know how it is - when you're a card maker everyone expects a handmade one.  Luckily when images are this fun it's easy to enjoy making them!

This is Checking out (for the year) by the Stamping Chef.  EVERY single week is a new challenge over on the challenge blog.  The Stamping Chef will be going through some branding changes soon, so be sure to scoop all the images you want before the changeover....no guarantee they'll make the cut!  Also please join the Slinky Tart fb group to keep up to date with the exciting changes!

I coloured her with Copics, added some frantage and flowers, and some white flock to her outfit to give it texture.
Thanks for looking and check back later this week for a whooooole bunch more Christmas cards!

TSC wants a cracker!

Hey everyone!  Ok - so are you all experiencing January in November too?  This is crazy!  But considering one of my favourite things to do is sit in my pj's with a blanket on while I colour with my dog at my feet....I now have a great excuse to do just that!!!

This hot mama is Polly wants a Cracker by the Stamping Chef.  There's a new challenge starting today over at the TSC challenge blog.  It's always Anything Goes - so your creativity can roam free!  You could win this smexy lady, or any other image of your choice.  Also, be sure to share your TSC makes over on the facebook page too.  Sometimes Tamara treats us to sneak peeks, and there's a monthly challenge there too!
Copics used - sorry, I didn't record them all!

Happy Birthday Betty!!!! - Blog hop

SURPRISE!!!!  Happy Birthday Betty!
As you know by now, Corinne organized an awesome hop to make sure you know how much we love you!  It'll take you all week to get through this list, but I hope you're feeling the love!!
For anyone else stumbling upon this post, it's Betty's (owner of Simply B Stamps) birthday.  We all used the same image to create a card to mail to her.
Betty loves Halloween and Dia De Los Muertos, so I have a feeling you'll see a familiar theme with a lot of these!  I used some sugar skull paper and stickers, coloured my image with Copics, and added just a few flowers and ribbons.
Up next you're off to see Sian.  Be sure to show her some love!

Hop order:
Leanne, Cynthia Cole, April, Cat, Dena

A quickie card

I know I just posted a card with this Saturated Canary image Close to My Heart a few weeks back, but I had overwhelming response on Facebook.  Thank you!!  A co-worker asked if I'd use it again for a little girl baby card and gave me free reign on colours.  I decided to do something a little different than the traditional girl colours, but think the flowers, gems and butterflies still make it feminine.

Thanks for stopping by!

TSC and the BIG Teese

What is it about Wednesday's that make it drag?  Still two more "get ups" before the weekend, yet the last weekend seems so long ago!  haha

Luckily Wednesday means a new challenge at The Stamping Chef, so that's something to be excited about.  Challenges are always anything goes - so let your creativity be free!  It's a great way to unwind in the middle of the week.  Then maybe NEXT Wednesday you could find you won some awesome TSC images - and that will make that day so much better!

This week I worked with the very sexy The Big Teese.

I wish I had more steampunk elements in my stash to really spice it up.  However this feather is so fun, and perfectly matched her hat!  I cut the frame using my Silhouette portrait, and fussy cut just the top of the image to make her pop out of the frame.
Copics used:
Skin - E000, 00, 21, 11 04 R20
Hair - E49, 47, 44
Outfit - R29, 59, 89 YG91, 95, 97 E89, 87, 44, 81

Thanks for looking and be sure to show us your fantastic creations!  They don't have to use TSC images (but we love when they do!)

JIC and DRS Designs

It's time for another Team A Challenge at Just Inspirational Challenges.  This week our theme is quite broad - so I expect a lot of you to enter!!!

WISHES!

And my sponsor was DRS Designs who is giving away a gift certificate for their shop!
I used their sentiment "Merry and Bright".  Isn't it beautiful?

This little girl is Silver Fairy from Wee Stamps.  I saw her on pinterest coloured as a Christmas fairy and fell in love!
Copics used:
Skin: E04, 11, 21, 00, 000
Hair: E59, 57, 55, 53
Dress: 20, 24,  27, 29, 59, 89
Wings: YG21, 23, 25, R29, 59, 24 E57, 53, 55 B00, B01
And this time I got the Frantage right - woo hoo!!! I had purchased the wrong kind previously, but this is the Reflections brand Shabby Blue.  I added some Platinum stickles to the wings too.

So don't forget, one week to enter your "Wishes" themed card for your chance at some great prizes!

Time for Pretty!

Halloween is behind us and it time for cute and sexy and pretty and girly again!

Nobody is more girly than one of my friends who has a birthday coming up this month.  I purchased the beautiful Betty's Boudoir digis back when they were released....and then kind of "hoarded" them in a way!  haha.  I'm sure we all do it with scrapbook supplies; I do it with digis too.  I save them until I can make something special with them, looking forward to the first time I get to colour them.

Considering how excited I was to make something with her, it did NOT go smoothly.

First, I keep seeing these awesome shabby-chic makes with Frantage.  Well apparently there's more than one kind, and I bought the wrong one.  I heated and heated waiting for these to melt until I scorched the paper.  It smoked so bad I turned it over to make sure it wasn't on fire!
Second, I've been saving this awesome rub-on and gem combo...but when I used it, it barely showed! (both pictured below.  Thankfully the frantage covered most of the burn)

Third, I had the perfect frame picked out for my Silhouette, but the paper I wanted was just too flimsy and all the fine flourishes ripped.  I tried again with a more sturdy paper, but only slightly better results.  In the end I cut out just a portion of the frame to use.

When all was said and done the card took WAY longer than it should have to put together, but I really love it!

Copics used:
Skin - E000, 00, 21, 11, 04
Hair - E47, 37, 34
Undies - RV21, 23, 25, 29
Stockings - C03, 05, 07, 110

If anyone has some tips about Frantage I'd be grateful if you left a comment!  I think  I'll need to do some YouTube research before I try again.  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Halloween!

BOO!  Happy Halloween!
I just realized today that I never showcased the card I made for the Simply B Secret Swap that happened a few weeks back -so decided it fit the theme for today!

We all had to use Pumpkin Patch Betty on a card we were sending to our swap partners.  Here's my easel card.  Sorry, I really don't remember too many details of the materials used!  In fact I can't even find a picture I took so thankfully my swap partner took a good shot for her post!

Hope everyone has a frightfully wonderful day full of treats and not tricks.  See ya soon!

Sugar's Doggies

Hi everyone!  Today I have a birthday card I made for my soon-to-be sister-in-law.
She's a dog trainer and they have a house with four dogs.

So how perfect was this image from That Crafty Place called Sugar's Doggies?
I loved the image as soon as I saw it, but when I read the story behind it I was very touched.  There was a fire in the Manchester Dog's home, and this image was designed to raise funds.  Fifty percent of each sale is donated to that shelter.
Thanks for checking in and be sure to pick up that adorable digi.  We all have animal lovers in our lives and it goes toward such a great cause!!

Welcome Amelia!

I'm happy to announce I have a new niece this week, Amelia.  I went to visit her tonight and she's ADORABLE!

This is my favourite image to use on baby cards called Close to My Heart by Saturated Canary.  I've featured a card using her before, and tried her again now that I have a few Kit and Clowder clothing classes under my belt.
I picked out the Chatterbox paper first and matched my Copics to it.  The trick was to pull the reds and greens without it looking like a Christmas card.
Copics used:
Hair: E49, 47, 44, 42
Skin: E000, 00, 21, 11, 04 and R20
Skirt: G40, 43, 46 and then washed over the whole thing with YG21
Wrap: R39, 12, 14, 22, 02
Thanks so much for visiting!

This is Coffin Break from The Stamping Chef

Ppinky Dolls Halloween

It's getting close to Halloween!  This is the first year I've ever made Halloween cards, and I'm really enjoying it.

There's a DT call going on at Ppinky Dolls so I thought I'd give it a shot.  There are LOTS of images with animals, and I'm excited for the Kit and Clowder animal class coming soon.  I'm almost done my Skin and Hair class, and have started my clothing class.  I'm LOVING my results so far!

My mom asked for a 1st Halloween card, and I have been eying this super cute Ppinky with flaffy kitten.

Copics used:
Skin: E000, 00, 21, 11, 04
Hair: E49, 37, 25
Dress: YR27, 24, 21, 20
Kitten: C09, 07, 05, 03
The title and web flourish were cut with my Silhouette, and the raven stickers are from Jollee's.
Thanks for looking and see you soon!

Simply Betty Secret Halloween Swap

How fun is this???  This was my first swap and I'll SOOOO be doing it again! If you've stumbled on this post, I participated in a Secret Swap through Simply Betty Stamps.  We were each given a partner (to be kept secret) and sent them a box of Halloween goodies.

You should be arriving from Vicky's blog who just happened to be my swap partner!  I can't have asked for a better partner than my fellow Canuck!

First off I got not one, but two awesome cards!

And I was spoiled rotten 'cause my box was stuffed with the following goodies....

some 3D My Mind's Eye stickers

 some Jack-o-lantern dies

a paper pack (already used on my Simply B Miss Muffet card - lots of glitter pages which I love!), a stamp, and a cute little block which is decorating my desk at work...

some rosettes which I'd previously been dying to order for myself, already used one on my card posted yesterday
and my very favourite these super cool charms.  I used that big spider on my Simply B card too and got SOOOO many compliments on it.

Thank you for making this experience and AWESOME one, Vicky!!! Up next you're off to see Anita!

Love you for your Brains!

Hi Everyone!
So lots of fun stuff happening over at Simply B blog!  First I'm SUPER excited to announce I won with my Miss Muffet card I posted a few days ago.  Thanks everyone for their encouragement!

Today they're having a DT call and to enter you had to make a "mummy" card of sorts.   I have been DYING to be part of this team (pun intended!). Now, not being a big fan of all things dead, I temporarily forgot mummys and zombies are not the same thing.  DUH!  So I purchased Zombie Bday Betty to work with.  However I liked her the best 'cause she's the prettiest!  haha

In the end it all worked out well.  I coloured her with Copics, cut the card out with my Silhouette, added a sentiment,...and voila!  Here is "Love you for your Brains"!

Check out the Simply B blog to see the awesome things everyone else came up with, and wish me luck once again!
